As the world turns its attention to the shifting political landscape in Syria, the situation for its Christian community continues to grow more dire. While the fall of Assad's regime may dominate the headlines, the reality on the ground is far more alarming. In recent days, we have witnessed:

• Thousands of believers and religious minorities fled their homes.

• Families being separated at checkpoints.

• Many believers are trapped without food, water, or safe passage.

While life under the Assad regime was difficult, what follows may be even more devastating. Extremist groups are notorious for forcing Christians to convert, paying heavy taxes, or facing death.
