Hasnaa, age 44, comes from a Muslim background and was introduced to Christianity through her husband. What she knew about Jesus before that was that he was a prophet so she was shocked to hear him being preached about as God. She started reading a lot of books, both Christian and Islamic, to find out the truth. “A month later, I was ready to give him my life and that’s how my faith journey started. My husband and my eldest son became believers first, then I joined them, and later my younger son joined us.”
“The challenges that come with this are what many others go through. This happened around fifteen years ago and my parents and friends definitely rejected me then. To this day, I haven’t gotten to reconnect with any of them. Also, people didn’t really embrace new members in the church but God is still with us despite all the pressure we get from people.”
Hasnaa has been attending the 4G3 Discipleship Institute for three years now and God keeps encouraging her to show up. “The teaching is contemplatively spiritual and deep. It’s not the repetitive shallow sermons we’re used to but it is the teaching that directly hits your heart. It’s encouraging and catalytic. I’m used to going to revival conferences and evangelism schools but 4G3 is mostly concerned with the depth of your relationship with God and you find yourself taking big decisions in response to the teaching”. For her, it was to let go of relationships that hold her back in her walk with God. It used to be hard for her before because she feared losing more connections than she already has in the past. “Now, I see that it is necessary to move forward. Of course, you still love them, but you have to put boundaries.”
“The teaching is also ideal for beginners in the faith. It takes you deeper in a very simple way. I read somewhere that while the biblical scholars discuss deep issues together, the simple ones find the Lord.” She encourages more people to attend 4G3 Discipleship Institutes and might even retake them herself. “For me, every time I listen to the teaching, I hear something new.”
There are many more people like Hasnaa eager to be discipled. We can't do this without you. 4G3 is on mission to embolden displaced and persecuted Christians in the Middle East to stand firm in their faith.
Funds raised are going to directly support and expand 4G3 Discipleship Institutes. Our goal is to transform displaced Christians to bloom where they are planted so they can live as victors not victims.
Thank you for praying, giving and sharing about the ministry of 4G3. We greatly appreciate you.
Blessings, Dr. Wahid and Laila Wahba
