Fighting a battle for the souls of the people.

At 4G3 we are blessed to partner with like-minded disciple-making ministries to advance our mission in the Middle East. Earlier this year, we formed a new partnership with Radical Mentoring; a mentoring process that equips men to develop authentic relationships and overcome the issues holding them back from living “life to the full.” You can learn more about their ministry here.

Through this partnership we are translating the Mentor Like Jesus book by Founder Reggie Campbell. Kevin visited Egypt with us this month for a book launch. He provided a note of encouragement below as a reminder of why we do what we do.

Kevin Harris teaching disciple-making principles in Eqypt. "The Muslim call to prayer echoes through the city of Alexandria five times a day, from sunrise to sunset. At first, the sound is a bit unnerving, but as the week progresses, the prayers remind me that I am a stranger in a foreign land. With mosques on every corner, not only does my American nationality make me a stranger, but my Christian faith also does. My trip to Alexandria, Egypt, was my first taste of ministry work in the Middle East, and I can confidently say I will never be the same again. Despite the language barrier and our stories' unique circumstances, the Gospel was the bridge that brought us together. While I did not know the words to the worship music we sang, our shared belief in Jesus and adoption as sons and daughters of the Risen King brought us to the foot of the same cross. After meeting people who traveled long distances or risked everything to be in attendance, I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of "my daily bread." While speaking with one of the attendees, our conversation was interrupted by the sounds of the Muslim prayer. I paused and asked, "What impact does that prayer call have on you every day?". The answer was both surprising and inspiring. In so many words, he said that the constant noise reminded him that he was fighting a battle for the souls of the people God puts in his path. Well said, friend - while the noise I hear is different, its mission is the same. Will I let it keep me from seeing the people God has put in front of me?"

Join us today, on Giving Tuesday, to embolden persecuted Christians in the Middle East to stand firm in their faith.

Grateful,

Dr. Wahid and Laila Wahba
